Lions Fall 31-24 to Arizona Cardinals

DETROIT -- After trailing 17-0 at halftime it appeared the Detroit Lions were headed for a second straight blowout loss.  That all changed however when Louis Delmas intercepted a pass in his own end zone and took it back 101 yards for a Touchdown.

From there Maurice Morris ran a 64-yard Touchdown to bring the Lions within 17-14.  A defensive stop later it was Jason Hanson capitalizing on 2 straight unsportsmanlike conduct penalties to tie the game 17-17 on the strength of a 37-yard field goal.

The score however wasn't too be as the Cardinals got a strong kickoff return from Steve Breaston which led to an 18-yard TD run by Beanie Wells giving the Cardinals a 24-17 lead.

The Lions appeared to have stalled on the following drive before Breaston fumbled a fair catch leading to 3rd string Lions Quarterback Drew Stanton's 1st career rushing TD to tie the game at 24.

The Cardinals than moved down the field and scored the game winning TD on a 5-yard pass from Kurt Warner to Anquan Boldin to give the Cardinals a 31-24 victory over the Lions at Ford Field Sunday.

The win improves the Cardinals to 9-5 while the struggling Lions fall to 2-12 on the season.  Lions Safety and former Western Michigan star Louis Delmas played a key role in the Lions comeback hopes returning the 101-yard interception as well as making some key stops as the Lions elevated themselves back into the game.  

Next week the Lions head to San Francisco for a 4:05 EST kickoff with the 49ers.
