(Allegan) - The attorney for 35-year-old Quirino Labra-Arteaga was left standing with proverbial egg on his face after his client failed to appear for a preliminary hearing yesterday in Allegan District Court. Labra-Arteaga had undergone six months of treatment at a psychiatric hospital, and has apparently fled for his native Mexico. He is accused of driving drunk on a Monterey Township road in July of ’08, killing a passenger in a crash.
