STEVENS POINT, Wis. (WSAU) – Stevens Point school officials will listen tonight to what residents have to say about how to handle a future budget deficit.

Tonight’s listening session is from 7 to 8 p.m. in the auditorium at Ben Franklin Junior High School.

The listening session will be the second since voters rejected a three-year, $23 million dollar referendum earlier this month.

District administrators have considered the possibility of a recurring referendum in the spring that will let the district permanently raise revenue caps.

Such a question would still have to be passed by the school board before it could be put on the ballot.
