COLDWATER (WTVB) - A farming accident late night in Branch County’s Ovid Township took the life of a 71-year old man. Sheriff’s deputies say Irvin Sours was on his tractor trying to grade dirt along a ditch bank when it rolled over, trapping Sours underneath.
A teenage girl who lives near Sours that had waved to him about fifteen minutes earlier while passing by his farm along Lester Road drove by the property again and called 9-1-1 after seeing the tractor tipped over.
Lakeland firemen used the jaws of life to help lift the tractor off Sours but he was found unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene. The accident was reported around 7:45 last night
