ALLEGAN – Thirty-two-year-old Kristopher Hall of Allegan has been charged with felony animal abuse and could be facing a couple of years behind bars. On April 28th, investigators found an ailing 10-week-old male Labrador dog with a broken jaw and a blood clot behind his right eye in the area of 107th Avenue and 34th Street in Trowbridge Township. The injuries were serious but not considered life-threatening.
Tips led police to Hall, who was arrested a short time later and remains in the Allegan County Jail. It was the second high-profile dog abuse case in Allegan County in less than a year. Last September, 23-year-old Jason Williams was sentenced to 45 days in jail and ordered to pay 23 hundred dollars restitution for torturing an older Labrador at a Dorr Township residence. That dog, Chance, did recover and was adopted by an unnamed Grand Rapids family.
