WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Senate Republicans adopted on Tuesday a voluntary ban on congressional spending projects known as "earmarks," which many of them view as wasteful spending.
Republicans adopted the ban while still pushing for a Senate vote for a binding, two-year ban that would apply to Democrats as well.
