Sheboygan, Wis. (WHBL) - The way has been cleared for the sale of the Blue Harbor Resort and Convention Center to Claremont New Frontier Resort.  The Sheboygan City Council last night, following an hour and a half closed session, unanimously approved a new ground lease between the Redevelopment Authority and the buyer.  Mayor Bob Ryan says the good news is that for the next 5 years, the city's debt obligation on the South Pier will be covered.  Mayor Bob Ryan on Sheboygan’s Morning News this morning said he is confident the new owners will be able to turn the property around.  Their plan is to reposition the hotel, and market it as a convention and business hotel which will include some upgrades to the resort to make it more luxurious.  Ryan said the water park wasn’t big enough to be the focal point or main attraction for Blue Harbor.  The property has been on the market for months and the current owner, Great Wolf Resorts of Madison is presently negotiating the sale to Claremont New Frontier.
