LOS ANGELES, WI (WTAQ) - A Fox Valley man who graduated from UW Eau Claire will match wits with two other contestants on “Jeopardy.” Jared Balkman, 30, who lives in the town of Grand Chute near Appleton, will appear on Monday’s show. Balkman passed a 50-question test online, and was then selected to audition in Chicago in May of last year. There, he took another 50-question test and competed in several mock “Jeopardy” rounds. Then, Balkman was placed into an 18-month selection pool in which contestants are picked for the show. Balkman almost gave up his hopes of being selected when he got the call in August to go out to Los Angeles. He competed on August 29th – and of course, he was sworn to secrecy about how he did. You can find out on Monday,  “Jeopardy” airs locally on Fox 11 WLUK-TV at 6 p.m.
