HARTFORD TOWNSHIP (WKZO/WSJM) -- He helped a friend bury his murdered girlfriend in his back yard in Hartford Township. Now he is going to spend two months in the Van Buren County Jail.
Gregory Ruple was charged with being an accessory after the fact to the murder of Penny Miller in Hartford Township.
The woman went missing in 2007, but her body wasn't found until last year. Prosecutors say that her boyfriend, Austin Bradley Austin, murdered Miller and then got Greg Ruple to help him burn and bury the body on some property he owned.
On Monday, Ruple got the 60 days in jail, with seven days credit for time already served. His lawyer had been seeking probation.
Austin Austin, meanwhile, is serving 15 to 25 years.
