A litany of events begins on Thursday, May 1 as ‘Borgess Run for the Health of it’ is nearly underway.
The Meijer Kids Fun Run packet pickup and late registration will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday and will run until 6:30 p.m. at Borgess Health & Fitness Center.
The Meijer Kids Fun Run Expo will be held on Friday and will also be at the Health & Fitness Center. The expo will run from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and will provide another opportunity for Fun Run registration and packet pickup as well as late registration and packet pickup for the Motivational Mile.
The first running event of the weekend will be held Friday night with the Fun Run, which is slated to start at 6:00 p.m. The Motivational Mile starts shortly after at 6:05 p.m.
Occasional showers are expected for Friday night, so runners and spectators are encouraged to bring umbrellas. The temperature is expected to be in the low to mid-40s.
The Borgess Run Expo takes place at Wings Stadium on Saturday, May 3. There will be a variety of vendors on site as well as an opportunity for late registration and packet pickup. The expo runs from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. You can read more about the Borgess Run Expo HERE.
Sunday, May 4 holds the bulk of the events during the Borgess Run for the Health of it weekend. Packet begins at 6:30 a.m. at the Health & Fitness Center. Pre-race prayer and worship will be held at the Food Tent in Tent City at 6:45 a.m.
The Kalamazoo Marathon will be the first running event on Sunday beginning at 8:00 a.m. Showers and thunderstorms are expected for the morning with a high of 58 degrees.
The Borgess Half Marathon starts shortly after at 8:20 a.m. and the newly added Borgess 10k Run begins at 8:30 a.m.
The Borgess 5k run and the Priority Health 5k Walk both start at 8:40 a.m. There is no registration on the day of the events, so the last opportunity to register for Sunday’s events will be at the Kalamazoo Marathon Expo.
