SOCHI, RUSSIA (WKZO) -- Day four was a mixed bag for Michigan Athletes at the Winter Olympics in Sochi. The stars of the Day were Meryl Davis and Charlie White of Detroit who won the Free Style competition in the Team Figure-skating event, securing a bronze medal for U.S. Team in that brand new Olympic competition.

Jilleanne Rookard of Woodhaven, Michigan finished tenth in the 3000 meter women’s speedskating, but said she was happy just to qualify for the medal round.

The same story for Karly Shorr of Milford, Michigan who finished 6th in the first ever women’s Slope Style finals, and tweeted it was the best day of her life.
