JACKSON (WKZO) -- For the second time in the past several days maggots are found in the kitchen of a Michigan prison.
The latest incident happened on Tuesday at the Charles Egeler Reception and Guidance Center in Jackson. Over the weekend nearly three dozen inmates at the Parnall Correctional Facility in Jackson suffered food-poisoning-like symptoms after maggots and fly larvae were found near the food there.
The state privatized food prison service in December hiring Philadelphia-based Aramark. Since then there have been numerous complaints about sanitation issues.
