ROYALTON TOWNSHIP (WKZO) -- State Police are investigating a murder-suicide with a twist in Berrien County. Lt. Mike Dawsone says a passerby saw 56-year old David Tripp chase his wife, 42-year old Delaina with a gun around 6 a.m. Monday and then shoot her in the roadway.
State Police say he then ran into his back yard, called police and confessed and then shot himself to death.
Before officers responded, Mrs. Tripp was struck by a hit and run driver in a small sedan, that lost an inner fender lining in the collision.
Troopers used the lining to identify the car as a 1998-2000 Honda Accord.
They are asking for the public’s help to find that vehicle.
Police had responded to the home on John Beers Road in Royalton Township before to address domestic issues.
