Tigers resume play tonight


DETROIT (WKZO)- The Detroit Tigers get back into action tonight after the All-Star break and begin their second half of the season tonight against the Clevland Indians.  Anibal Sanchez will take the mound for the Tigers and Trevor Bauer will get the start for the Indians.  

Victor Martinez will return to the lineup tonight after he sat out the last eight games of the first half while healing up from a back injury.

Broadcast time is at 6:40 pm on AM 590 WKZO.

Saturday the Tigers play a double header against the Indians.  The first game gets underway at 12:40 pm and the second starts at 6:30 pm.  Both games can be heard on AM 590 WKZO.

The Tigers are calling up Drew VerHagen to start the first game of the doubleheader Saturday.  VerHagen is 6-7 at Toledo with a 3.67 ERA in 19 starts.  He has 63 strikeouts and 25 walks in 110 1/3 innings of work.

The Tigers will then wrap up their home series Sunday playing an afternoon game.  The broadcast gets underway at 12:40 on AM 590 WKZO, your home for the Tigers all season long.
