DETROIT (WKZO)- Detroit Tigers relief pitcher Joel Hanrahan has had a setback and will be shutdown for the rest of the season. Hanrahan is recovering from Tommy John Surgery.
Hanrahan has not pitched since May of 2013.
Hanrahan is 32 years old and has pitched with the Washington Nationals, Pittsburgh Pirates, and the Boston Red Sox. He has a 3.85 career ERA along with 441 strikeouts and 100 saves. He is also a two time All-Star.
