MILWAUKEE (WKZO) -- The University of Michigan is moving on to the Sweet-16 after third round victory in the NCAA Tournament.
The Wolverines took the lead over Texas early and never let go, winning 79 to 65.
The Maize and Blue set a team tournament record for shots from beyond the three point line, which helped them to build a lead and hold onto it.
The win was Michigan Head Coach John Beilein’s 700th victory, and he was handed the game ball.
The 2nd seeded Michigan will take on 14th-seeded Mercer or 11th-seeded Tennessee in the Sweet 16 in the Midwest Regional in Indianapolis this coming weekend.
